Why is the Disappearance of Nancy Guthrie 24/7 News?

One has to wonder how and why some people’s victimization is so much more important than others.

Why has a tragic event for the family of Nancy Guthrie become a cause célèbre for the nation?  For those of us who do not watch NBC’s Today Show, Savannah may be a familiar name, but is not someone we know.  She may be a celebrity to the leftists who still watch NBC News, but to the majority of Americans who are suddenly forced to watch news of her abduction on every news channel around the clock, we must ask why?  This is truly a mystery.  This 84-year-old woman, who apparently had a pace-maker and needed heart medicine every 24 hours, was living alone in a rural area of Tucson.  Why did she not have round-the-clock care?  With a famous daughter ostensibly worth millions, why on earth was she living alone?

The massive news coverage of this abduction for ransom or murder is puzzling beyond belief.  There is a lot going on in the world at this moment in time.  The war in Ukraine is ongoing, seemingly without end.  President Trump successfully removed the corrupt Maduro from his dictatorship, halting the destruction of Venezuela; Maduro will now be tried for his many crimes.  The murderous regime in Iran has killed perhaps as many as 40k of its own citizens over the past month.  And the mainstream media is addressing nothing but the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie.

O. J. Simpson’s trial for the murder of his wife was 24/7 news because he was a public figure of renown.  He was clearly guilty of the crime but a Los Angeles jury found him not guilty.  That was a cultural bomb for the city and the nation.  The jury knew he was guilty, but acquitted him anyway.  A few of the jurors said it was revenge for the beating of Rodney King after a high-speed chase that endangered many. The officers in that case were acquitted.  That acquittal set off the LA riots in 1992.  The riots in Minneapolis after the overdose death of George Floyd, which was immediately blamed on the policeman who restrained him with a legally prescribed tactic, set off the near-destruction of that city and other cities across the country. That conflagration was 24/7 news, the riots inflamed by the media who shamelessly called what was occurring “peaceful protests.”  Peaceful they were not.  They were purposefully incited for political purposes.  Our media is disgraceful and is to blame for the horrific damage done in the name of George Floyd, a lifelong criminal and drug addict.

Is there a political purpose fueling the non-stop coverage of Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance?  Doubtful, because few people have ever heard of her or her daughter.  Once informed that Savannah Guthrie is a host of a morning show known only to people who watch that program, it seems so odd that her case is dominating the news as if she is a person known to all Americans for service, celebrity, or some other form of fame would be so continuously covered, especially when there is not any news to report.  Is this perhaps a family thing?  Are the perpetrators known to the family of Savannah Guthrie?  Is it a random home invasion by persons who had no idea whose mother Nancy Guthrie is?  Is it about revenge or greed? Are the abductors Americans or foreigners?  The FBI surely knows more than has been revealed but the question remains:  Why is this case commanding so much coverage?  The many young women raped and murdered by illegal migrants have barely been reported by the mainstream media.

The abduction of Nancy Guthrie, if that is what it was, is indeed tragic for her family.  Was she a target because of her famous daughter?  Who knows?  But what is it about this relatively obscure woman’s plight that has rendered it the most important news of the year so far?  Law enforcement is on it, local and federal.  We can all hope there is a happy outcome of the Guthrie family’s crisis, but there are thousands of families, thanks to Biden’s open borders, whose loved ones have been raped, murdered, kidnapped, and violated  — victims who never got a moment’s notice by the media that is now so invested in the Guthrie woman’s case.  One has to wonder how and why some people’s victimization is so much more important than others.
