Has Donald Trump Just Ended the ‘American Century’?

TACO Hormuz Humiliation Makes a False Flag Even More Likely.

TACO, they say. “Trump Always Chickens Out”. But what we’ve just seen is far more than a humilation for one man. Future historians may well record Saturday 21st March, 2026, as the date which marked the end of the short century of US global hegemony

Towards the end of the day, Donald Trump told the world that he had challenged Iran to a 48-hour staring contest. “Open the Strait of Hormuz or I’ll destroy your power grid”.

Iran countered by saying it would respond to any such attack by destroying the power and desalination plants of the Sunni dictatorships whose money and collaboration is propping up the bankrupt superpower.

36 hours later, the world’s best, cleverest, smartest negotiator and beautiful, epic deal-maker blinked. Citing ‘progress’ in non-existent ‘negotiations’, Trump has extended his final deadline by five days.

Of course, it could all be just another short-termist financial scam. Trump’s bluffs and TACOs alike are tremendously good business for insiders.

Anyone with serious money in stocks and shares who knew what the apparently insanely erratic President was about to do could have made a fortune by selling shares and buying oil futures in the hours before, and then a further fortune by reversing the trade just before his announcement of a postponement.

If American rentier capitalism really has sunk to such desperate, short-termist greed, then the whole System is heading down the drain, but there’ll be scope for a few more lucrative stunts like that before everyone hears the final gurgle.

Or, Trump may genuinely have been persuaded that using his mouth without engaging his brain had put US power and the financial superstructure of global capitalism on the edge of the Precipice of Doom.

In which case, the question now is whether the Wall Street/Washington axis can finally summon up the courage to resist Epstein blackmail files and Zionist billionaire bribery, and insist on doing something which is in the interests of America instead of the Netanyahu regime.

Very unlikely, of course, but it has to be an outside possibility, because to go along with the messianic fantasies of the Lubavitch nutters to the bitter end really should be unthinkably dangerous.

More likely, Netanyahu (or whoever is operating his autopen) will come up with some extra psychotic outrage and push the Iranians into a tit-fot-tat escalation that forces Trump’s hand.

USS Maine and the Spanish-American War. The Lusitania and the First World War. The US fleet sacrificed at Pearl Harbor to bring the USA into WW2. The Gufk of Tonkin incident which did the same for the Vietnam War

Or they might prefer a nice little false flag, probably involving an “Iranian” missile and a U.S. ship. That, after all, is the time-honoured way of dragging the sensibly isolationist American public into war.

Absent one of these next steps, however, there is now a serious possibility that Trump will sort of walk away, and that an Israel – smarting from much bigger missile damage than has been admitted to – will also back off from prolonging the conflict. At least until the anti-missile batteries have been replenished.

How they can placate the Iranians sufficiently to start oil and gas moving through the Straits to pro-American regimes is another question. But the mere prestige of having withstood everything that the USA and Israel could throw at them, and emerged as the victors, would go quite a long way.

Especially as such an eventuality – still, in my opinion, not particularly likely, but clearly now a real possibility – would tell the whole of the ‘Global South’ that the ‘American Century’ is over. The Geat Satan and Little Satan did their worst – and failed miserably to subdue an Iran crippled by decades of sanctions. What a staggering humiliation.

America’s inability to defend its most important Arab satellites, or to guarantee the energy supplies of its various Asian puppet regimes, has already done enormous damage to its prestige.

Frankly, the only thing the USA has in its favour right now is that the joint effort by the Zelensky regime, Nato, Palentir and vast amounts of European money to make the drone the king of the 21st century peer-conflict battlefield do appear to have created a stalemate in Ukraine, an impasse for Russia which cannot be explained away as being primarily the result of winter snow and early spring mud.

This regretable development aside, there is simply no good news for American power. Trump’s lifting of sanctions against Russia has merely formalised what was happening anyway – faced with the Hormuz closure crisis, the whole of Asia was going to buy Russian oil in any case.

The US of A really is a paper tiger now. If Trump is pushed back to full-scale war by Israel, or by the hyper-globalist forces which see the destructive force of endless war and economic chaos as the key to perpetual lockdown and population reduction, or if he leaps into the fire of his own accord, events and financial meltodwn will shred the picture of the fearsome beast into pieces.

If he doesn’t; if, somehow, the crisis does subside and the Mullahs remain in charge, then the big cardboard cut-out is going to smoulder away, with its fake nature exposed for all to see. Then, at some point, China will move to reunify Taiwan, and the last charred scraps of the old picture will go up in flames for good.
