Trump Strikes Out Again

The reality of Donald Trump is that he is a failure at nearly everything he has ever done.
On Friday, Donald Trump was at it again. He posted on Truth Social a photoshopped picture of his face next to those of the four earlier presidents carved in stone on Mount Rushmore in South Dakota.
At least he was grinning, not displaying his usual snarl or sneer with his little fist raised defiantly in the air, showing what a tough guy he is!
That stern presidential portrait will be on display on the first page of the new United States passports, which will be issued by the Washington DC passport office in June to commemorate both the Sesquicentennial of the United States and the 80th birthday of our most glorious leader.
The picture of DJT will have a red white and blue background to confirm is patriotic content.
And for those who love seeing their president’s obsession with gold there is now a 15-foot-high statue of the Donald with his tiny fist raised at his Trump Doral golf course in Florida.
It is completely covered in gold.
It is probably similar to what son-in-law and real estate developer Jared Kushner had some time ago proposed to erect at the Trump Gaza Riviera Luxury Seashore Development after the Palestinians are forced to emigrate or killed by America’s “best friend and closest ally” Israel.
And there’s more! Many Americans were amazed to see on Truth Social an AI image of draft dodger Don wearing a pair of military-style Ray Bans and cradling an assault rifle with his finger dangerously close to the trigger while standing in front of a burning city.
A caption displayed the message to Iran that they should surrender or face the consequences: “No More Mr Nice Guy!”
Finally, all patriotic Americans really had to appreciate news that work is proceeding on the Boeing 747 that our president received as a gift from Qatar.
The Air Force will spend $400 million on the upgrades converting the plane to the new Air Force One for presidential luxurious travel, hopefully starting later this summer.
After Trump leaves office it will be flown to Florida where it will be housed in the Trump Presidential Library in Miami.
An AI picture of what it will look like there in the library is already circulating and I am sure all loyal citizens will join me in celebrating how spending $400 million on an airplane that will sit in a library to honor the worst head of state this country has ever had is money well spent!
Donald Trump is clearly not shy when it comes to promoting himself even to the extent of now widely publicized enriching of his family and business associates by exploiting his position and the contacts it makes possible.
He is very good at what is called insider trading, where he tips off his associates on what he will be saying and doing that will affect the stock market, allowing his favored contacts to buy low and sell high.
This has worked very well with oil and energy products during the current conflict with Iran, allowing his family among others to profit enormously. Insider trading is also illegal, but hey, who is keeping tabs on it? Prominent Democratic Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi’s husband allegedly got rich and richer off it, so why not a few Trumps?
Another quirk of Sir Donald is how he, plus the sycophants that he has surrounded himself with, celebrate his own genius, which is not visible to anyone else who is not a homicidal maniac who has the misfortune of dealing with him.
His latest and possibly most bizarre assertion is that he is “the most powerful person to ever live,” whatever that is supposed to mean.
If he is referring to his attempts to destroy the world as we know it, possibly up to and using his stock of nuclear weapons, then he has a point, but his screw ups far outnumber his widely touted “victories” over adversaries like Venezuelan officials, fishermen in the Caribbean, and, most recently a non-threatening Iran in support of his partner in crimes against humanity Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The reality of Donald Trump is that he is a failure at nearly everything he has ever done, witness his six bankruptcies, and he has been a disaster for the foreign policy of the United States in his tendency to negotiate with people using threats and insults rather than seeking to obtain common ground based on mutual interests. Trump reportedly listens to Netanyahu on what to do about Iran and he is also frequently in contact with Mark Levin and Laura Loomer, both of whom are prominent Jews who have been pushing for legislation to criminalize critics of Israel to include hard time in prisons. Beyond that, I am much amused by Trump’s recent addition of one Nick Stewart to the maladroit Iran negotiating team of Jared Kushner and Mike Witkoff, who are both ardent Zionists and presumed Israeli agents embedded deep in the Trump administration. Stewart is an employee of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (FDD) think tank and its primary objective has long been to get the United States to destroy Iran to benefit Israel. Good call Donald to have that clown on your team! Maybe you should include him on your oddly named and dysfunctional Board of Peace!
The Responsible Statecraft’s Middle Eastern expert Trita Parsi has described recent delusional Donald Trump efforts to negotiate some kind of arrangement that he can refer to as a “victory” in his discussions with Iran so he can extricate himself from the disastrous involvement of his own making. Parsi describes the failure to accept a reasonable compromise with the Iranians to wind down the conflict as “Trump’s Iran blockade snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.” So the war will go on as directed by Netanyahu and Trump will continue to assert that he has “won.” And everyone will pay the price for the stupidity. As international lawyer John Whitbeck puts it best: “The whole world is suffering, with no end in sight.”
Indeed.
Economists are predicting a worldwide “global” recession if the war against Iran in its current form continues for some months longer.
And the Iran war is not only negatively affecting world energy resources, it is also remaking government-to-government relations beyond the Middle East regional Gulf Cooperation Council and OPEC.
Trump has been particularly disappointed with NATO lack of support for his admittedly insane war against Iran as well as for support of international moves being made to sanction Israel over its genocide in Gaza and its attacks on Lebanon. He has announced the withdrawal of 5,000 US troops from Germany, whose Chancellor Friedrich Merz had described the US as having experienced a “humiliation” in the negotiations over the Iran war.
Regarding Spain and Italy, both of which would not allow use of their NATO air bases for attacks on Iran, Trump is considering the same and also more severe treatment. He is calling for Spain to be expelled from NATO for starters and has characteristically warned how “Italy’s Giorgia Meloni lacks courage on Iran war. Do people like the fact that Meloni isn’t doing anything to secure the oil? Does she like it? I can’t imagine she does. I’m shocked by her. I thought she had courage, but I was wrong. Iran would blow up Italy in two minutes if it had the chance.”
Admittedly NATO is an organization that has largely outlived its usefulness, but the widening rift with the European democracies that would normally be inclined to be supportive of US initiatives suggests that the US/Israel war with Iran will have geopolitical consequences far beyond what anyone might have perceived when the conflict began. Thank you Mr Trump!
