Candace Owens Claims Israel is Blackmailing’ Trump Over Epstein
Candace Owens claimed that the state of Israel is “blackmailing President Donald Trump” in a social media post about the recent developments in the Jeffrey Epstein case on Thursday.
On Wednesday, Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released a few emails sent to and by Epstein about Trump. Subsequently, their Republican counterparts released more than 20,000 pages of documents in the hands of the committee.
The publication of the documents has set off a firestorm.
Among the most notable messages included in the two drops were those in which Epstein declared that the “dog that hasn’t barked is trump,” that Trump “knew about the girls,” and that he knew “how dirty donald is.”
In another especially interesting message, Michael Wolff told Epstein that there was “an opportunity to come forward this week and talk about Trump in such a way that could garner you great sympathy and help finish him” on the eve of the 2016 presidential election.
On Thursday evening, Owens offered her view of what was happening.
“They are blackmailing President Donald Trump in broad daylight. The slow release of the e-mails is intentional. Now he will give them whatever they want,” she wrote on X. “For those who struggle with context clues, THEY=Israel, who Jeffrey Epstein worked for. This is how our nation is run.”
Her comments are not especially surprising given Owens’s well-documented hostility toward Israel and affinity for conspiracy theories about Jews.
During an appearance at a July White House press briefing, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said there was no evidence to suggest that Epstein was working for any foreign or domestic intelligences service.
“I haven’t seen any evidence or information that reflects that. If anything comes before me that changes that in any way, support the president’s statement loud and clear. If any credible evidence comes forward, he wants the American people to see it,” replied Gabbard after being asked about the possibility.
