Americans Will Never Get Clarity on the Epstein Files

President Donald Trump has signed legislation to force the Justice Department to release its files on deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, but can Americans expect justice to prevail?
To get an idea of the lengths some politicians—American politicians, no less—will go to protect their public escapades, consider that on August 20, 1998, the very day Monica Lewinsky was scheduled to appear before a grand jury to testify about her affair with then-President and Commander-in-Chief Bill Clinton, the U.S. military destroyed a pharmaceutical factory in far-off Sudan and declared it belonged to Al Qaeda. Suddenly, the American people were no longer so fascinated by Miss Lewinsky and the infamous blue dress. Coincidence? No one will ever know for sure, but what is known is that the factory was legitimate and had no connection to any terrorist group, writes George Samuelson .
Now the world must wonder what devious diversionary tactics will unfold—false flag, financial collapse, World War III?—as hundreds of influential figures worldwide risk being exposed in the biggest sex scandal in modern history. The main antagonist in this Netflix saga, Jeffrey Epstein, died long ago, having somehow found a hook in the ceiling of his New York jail cell with which he could easily hang himself . Given the circumstances, will others follow Epstein to the grave?
While it’s difficult to predict anything with certainty in this case, consider that just last week, US President Donald Trump strongly opposed the release of the files, calling them a “Democratic hoax.” This tactic backfired. The Orange Man forgot that a large part of the reason he was elected to a second term in the White House was that his Republican base wants to see the members of the Swamp stew in their own juice. Trump seemed all too eager to protect his fellow elite—Democrats and Republicans alike, it didn’t matter—until the conspiracy became too clear and too dangerous. On November 18, Trump signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act to release the files related to the deceased child molester, ending months of resistance to the documents’ release.
Just hours after Congress quickly passed legislation to force the Justice Department to release the files on the deceased sex offender, the president announced he had signed the bill.
“Jeffrey Epstein, who was indicted in 2019 by Trump’s Justice Department (not the Democrats!), was a lifelong Democrat, donated thousands of dollars to Democratic politicians, and had close ties to many well-known Democratic figures,” Trump wrote in a rambling post on Truth Social. He named several Democrats named in emails from Epstein’s estate released by the House Oversight Committee, including Bill Clinton (yes, Bill certainly featured prominently) and Larry Summers, a former Treasury Secretary and current Harvard professor who sought Epstein’s advice on cheating on his wife. It’s probably safe to say that Summers’ career, if not his marriage, is effectively over.
It appears the Trump administration, which has its own reasons for not wanting to release the files, is already taking active steps to obstruct the process. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced on the same day Trump signed the legislation that “new information” obtained by investigators had prompted the Justice Department to reverse its earlier decision to close the Epstein investigation. This is crucial because it allows the Trump administration to redact any names in the files under investigation. In theory, this could protect Trump himself from any damaging associations he might have had with Epstein, considering their friendship lasted approximately 15 years .
Several Republican lawmakers are warning the White House that withholding documents, which could include footage of people who visited Epstein’s various properties, would be a grave mistake.
Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) warned that “people who feel strongly about this are going to feel like they’ve been duped” if the Justice Department claims that “we can’t release anything because there’s an active investigation.”
“I don’t think that will help to dispel the suspicions that many have harbored for a long time,” she said.
Democrats, who for months have pressured the Justice Department to release more information about Epstein, are skeptical that Bondi will follow through on her promise. After all, this is Pam Bondi, who works for Trump. In other words, this could all be a contrived scheme. Trump stubbornly refused to release the documents, but ultimately lost the gamble. Are we really supposed to believe he’s truly changed his mind?
“He anticipated the outcome and then directed Bondi to launch other investigations,” said Sen. Peter Welch (Vt.), a Democrat on the Judiciary Committee. “So we’ll see the Justice Department withhold information because it could disrupt ongoing investigations.”
Don’t be fooled by Trump’s bravado, the cover-up of the atrocities found in the Epstein files will continue forever.
