DEI Judge Who Freed Man Who Lit Woman on Fire Admits She Rules Based on Looks
Calling Dems “soft on crime” seems way too nice at this point. Maybe we should call them “pro-crime” Democrats, because that’s what they are. What we’re seeing unfolding in liberal-run cities like Chicago is a full-blown pro-criminal ideology. Dems are literally elevating and protecting thugs, handcuffing prosecutors, and leaving innocent Americans to fend for themselves and fight for their lives.
And the Lawrence Reed case is a perfect and very sad example of this. Reed wasn’t some first-time offender or troubled teen who made a mistake. This guy was a walking crime spree with 72 prior arrests and fifteen convictions. This guy had a well-documented history of violence, instability, and utter brutality. Prosecutors literally begged a judge to keep him locked up, because he was a danger and the public would be at high risk. They laid out exactly what would happen if she let him go.
And she let him go anyway.
Because ideology beat common sense and safety. Because a Democrat judge and a full-blown DEI hire who openly admits she bases rulings on how defendants look decided he deserved freedom more than the public deserved safety.
After he was set free, a woman on a Chicago commuter train paid the price. Reed allegedly poured gasoline on her, chased her through the train car, and set this poor young woman on fire. Federal agents were stunned he was even out on the street to begin with, calling his release a failure of the justice system. But what good do any of those words do for the woman now fighting for her life in a burn unit?
The judge who allowed this should be disbarred and put in jail. And keep in mind, this isn’t just a Chicago problem. This is a national problem.
This isn’t just a “Chicago problem.” This is happening all over the country. Activist judges and soft-on-crime politicians keep pushing this deranged idea that the most dangerous people in society should be released because they’re “too unstable” to prosecute. Huh?
Meanwhile, regular Americans are walking around with no idea that violent offenders who should be behind bars are roaming free right next to them, waiting to pounce.
If this isn’t tackled now, and tackled hard, it’s going to explode into something much bigger and uglier. We’re already seeing the early signs. Innocent people are getting hurt, sometimes killed, because the system is more interested in protecting criminals than protecting the public.
This is what happens when the left’s failed social experiments meet real life. Innocent people get maimed and murdered so judges can feel morally superior.
And to really understand how outrageous this story really is, here’s a closer look at Reed’s history and the warnings prosecutors gave this judge before everything unfolded:
A man who was accused of setting a woman on fire inside a Chicago commuter train was found to be a serial offender. Lawrence Reed was on Wednesday accused of committing a terrorist attack, with federal prosecutors alleging that he poured gasoline on a woman and chased her through a Chicago train car before setting her on fire.

Lawrence Reed is said to be a serial offender. He allegedly had had more than 70 prior arrests to his name. It reportedly emerged that Reed was out on pretrial release at the time of the incident for an aggravated battery charge. Records show that Reed had previously been arrested 72 times in Cook County alone and convicted in 15 of those cases, the feds was quoted by New York Post as saying in court papers.
“But the maniac never served any time and was only given probation despite being convicted of the arson incident in April 2020,” court documents show. At a news conference after Reed’s court appearance, federal officials expressed frustration that he was free at the time of the attack, saying he had a long criminal history while providing few details.
“Lawrence Reed had no business being on the streets given that his violent criminal history and his pending criminal cases,” ATF Special Agent-in-Charge Christopher Amon said. “Reed had plenty of second chances by the criminal justice system and as a result, you have an innocent victim in the hospital fighting for her life,” Amon was quoted by AP as saying.

But it gets even worse. Judge Teresa Molina Gonzalez was caught on camera practically admitting she’s a diversity hire and that her decisions are influenced by how defendants “look.”
At this point, something’s gotta give. What this judge did was so wildly irresponsible and reckless that the only bench she should sit on is a park bench. In a sane world, the victim or her family would be able to hold her legally accountable for what she did. Because if she had done her job, which is to uphold the law and protect the community, this nightmare would’ve never happened.
Until these activist/DEI judges are held responsible for the chaos they unleash, nothing will change. It won’t slow down. It will just get worse.
