The Cultural Suicide of Europe

The Cultural Suicide of Europe

Catherine Birbalsingh (also known as “Miss Snuffy”, self-description: Britain’s strictest headmistress) examined the cult of guilt and the self-destructive ideology of the West in a speech. Her speech at the ARC (Alliance for Responsible Citizenship) summit shows how Europe is destroying itself with white guilt and the binary worldview of oppressors and oppressed.

Birbalsingh, head of Michaela Community School in London, describes in her speech how white people are becoming increasingly afraid of being labeled racist. This fear permeates schools and the media and ultimately poisons the entire society. Adults feel guilty simply because they are white, writes Chris Veber .

White people are terrified of being seen as racist.

If white guilt permeates the online world and our schools, then our adults will feel guilty too.

This helps neither whites nor ethnics.

The result is a generation that learns to view the world exclusively through the lens of power and oppression. White people are regarded as eternal perpetrators, everyone else as potential victims. Birbalsingh calls it modern Marxism in a new guise. Formerly it was called bourgeoisie against proletariat; today, oppressors against the oppressed. The effect is the same: the division of society, the stoking of resentment, and the destruction of all individual responsibility.

This ideology is driving Europe towards cultural and social suicide. For decades, elites, teachers, and the media have portrayed their own continent as a historical evil. Colonialism and slavery were turned into an all-overshadowing original sin, while the abolition of slavery by European states, the Enlightenment, or the development of the rule of law were systematically downplayed or concealed. The result is a policy of self-denial. Open borders for the entire world, despite the explosive rise in crime in cities like Malmö, Marseille, or Berlin-Neukölln. Curricula that label national identity as problematic, and a public debate in which any clear statement on migration is immediately labeled as “racist.”

As a result, Europe imports the conflicts of millions of people from incompatible cultures. Parallel societies are emerging in which Western values such as equality or freedom of speech are regarded as alien or contemptible. At the same time, the school system teaches our children to be ashamed of their ancestors’ successes, rather than to be proud of them. Birbalsingh states that this ideology helps neither the natives nor the immigrants. In the former, it creates a lasting sense of guilt; in the latter, a sense of entitlement and a victim mentality. Both parties lose the ability to form a common society.

The cult of guilt is the result of decades of ideological work at universities, among teachers, and in the media. Critical theory, identity politics, and the focus on “structural oppression” have replaced the classic leftist rhetoric of class struggle and transformed it into race, sex (pardon, “gender”), and ancestry. As for victim identity: the more victim traits a person possesses, the more valuable they are, regardless of who they are and what they achieve (or fail to achieve). The goal is to label Western civilization as a repressive system and to undermine its foundations. This is also evident in the alliance between the Left and the radical representatives of Islam. Both share the same goal: the overthrow of Western culture. European politics responds to this with self-censorship and appeasement. Instead of drawing and defending clear boundaries and demanding integration, attempts are being made to solve problems with ever more money and ever more “diversity.” That is not a solution; that is capitulation.

Birbalsingh advocates for a return to personal responsibility, greater cultural self-awareness, and a clear rejection of collective guilt. White people must stop apologizing for their existence. Europeans must learn to view their history with nuance and, above all, to defend and appreciate their achievements. This means strict boundaries for immigrants and their behavior, clear integration requirements, and an education system based not on shame, but on self-awareness.

Otherwise, what Birbalsingh describes in her lecture will happen: Europe will not perish due to external enemies. It will abolish itself. Through an ideology that declares guilt a virtue and self-sacrifice a morality.
