The Current State of Feminism

“It’s just about equality of the sexes!” Yeah, right.

The above is the newly-minted design of a T-shirt on display at a kiosk in my local mall.
It resembles the “Dump Him” sweater in some respects, but the message it broadcasts is considerably more pernicious.
After all, there are some men who ought to be dumped. (The same goes for women, of course, and “Dump Her” shirts aren’t currently being circulated, to my knowledge, but that’s a different matter.) So one could conceivably argue that the advice being offered only applies in applicable cases, and thus shouldn’t necessarily be taken as anti-male, broadly speaking.
The same cannot be claimed about the T-shirt featured here. In this case, misandry and narcissism are simultaneously doled out in one feculent dose, and it’s sold as “liberation.”
Men are deemed unworthy of love, and love of self (if you’re a woman) is proclaimed a worthy and desirable endeavor, all with the help of that one red “X.”
*******
For as long as I can remember, feminists have claimed that feminism “is all about recognizing the equality of women and men.” Perhaps this once was true. Today, however, the brand of feminism being sold to young women is about openly, brashly, and brattily hating men, as attested by appalling apparel like the above.
However, I won’t demand that vendors and clothing stores stop selling such items. In fact, I encourage all women who gravitate to the message to purchase these shirts, and to wear them as often as possible.
Doing so will provide an invaluable service to men, in helping us know who to avoid at all costs. Better that a poisonous adder show her venom-tipped fangs than masquerade as something cute, cuddly, and harmless.
