We Will Not Go Quietly Into the Night

I’m sure most of you have seen the clip by now as it has tens of millions of views but Curtis Yarvin recently appeared on Peter McCormack’s show and he had some controversial takes regarding the future of Whites. In the clip, essentially, Yarvin argues that Whites ‘will not resist’ and will just retreat further and further behind their barbed wire fences like in South Africa. Our children, he says, will then all be ‘exterminated in one big pogrom’. He also argues that our ancestors who did resist tyranny are ‘completely alien to us’. I find a lot of problems with this.
I’ll try not to ramble.
I’ll begin with the South African comparison. He’s correct that there are some comparisons to be made with South Africa, mostly when it comes to the United States or the former Dominions, but it’s far from a direct 1:1 comparison. First of all White South Africans were always a tiny minority, remaining relatively stable at around 20% thanks to White immigration until about 1980 before plummeting. All across Africa in the 20th century there was a population boom, a unique event in history as Africans entered the modern world. In Rhodesia, for example, where Whites were about 5% of the population, the African population doubled roughly every twenty years. The whites of both Rhodesia and South Africa were being swamped and in the latter (20% White), never mind the former (5% White), the Whites were already beginning their struggle from what would be viewed as our demographic worst case scenario today. They were also facing an exploding, homogenous, black mass. We, meanwhile, are facing a rootless, diverse, horde of immigrants with no connection to our lands, upon touching down in the West their birth rates crater, thankfully. They will also not fight and die for this land if it ever comes to that.
The Second World War changed everything. The Whites of Africa went from being seen as heroic Empire builders to evil beyond the pale racialists seemingly overnight. This was a new, liberal, permissive, anti-nationalist (Whites only) and ‘fair’ (anti-White) world. The Whites of Europe and the Anglosphere were bowled completely over by this new political landscape, demoralised and exhausted as they were after the greatest war in human history. The Whites of Africa, however, knew they were fighting for their very lives. They did resist.
Now, the comparison isn’t perfect, as noted. The White man was beginning this struggle whilst already in political power, but he did resist! The Whites of Rhodesia and South Africa saw what happened in the rest of Africa under African rule. Most importantly, they saw what happened to Whites in Kenya, the Congo and Northern Rhodesia (Zambia). There was no question of going quietly into the night and they made their stand. Despite both the western liberal and eastern communist worlds being against them, despite being exhausted from the World War, despite the political troubles of the past few decades and despite their high standard of living, they made a stand.
In both cases the White man lost due to his fellow Whites, his own kith and kin back in Europe and the Anglosphere. He did not lose any battles, he was strangled by sanctions, pummeled by propaganda all across the world and then, finally, in the Rhodesian case, bled to death by emigration.
It’s hard to fight a war with a transitory White population, half of whom always have one eye on better prospects in the other White dominions. Why stick it out in Rhodesia when you can simply ‘take the chicken run’ and move to Australia, New Zealand or South Africa? Rhodesia was not the place for the White man to take his last stand. It was not ideally suited in any way, Whites being only 5% of the population and even then not rooted to the land for the most part, the nation only being founded in 1890 with most Whites arriving after 1945. Even still they resisted anyway for fifteen hard years with the world against them.
South Africa had done well for herself via White immigration, at least somewhat keeping up with the exploding black population. This changed in the mid 1970s whereupon more Whites began to leave than arrive. From 1979-1985 there was an influx of Whites from Rhodesia, but, after this, it was all downhill. The wheels quickly came off as the White share of the population dwindled and international pressure was piled on. Whites have been leaving in droves ever since.
Both nations made their stand, and, ultimately, lost. They took on the whole world and only then (if they didn’t emigrate, and the South Africans, Afrikaners especially, were far more rooted than the Rhodesians) did they retreat behind their barbed wire fences. This is the difference. They resisted, lost, and were swamped by the African population boom. For this to be comparable to our own situation we would need to be a minority, make our stand, and then lose. At that point then yes, Yarvin would be absolutely right. Whites would have to retreat behind their fences and we would be at the mercy of the third worlders, but we haven’t even made our stand yet! The Rhodesians and South Africans are much more comparable to the Germans of 1946 than the Whites of today. A defeated people, a demoralised people, a people with no hope, existing solely at the mercy of their enemies.
Rhodesian and South African behaviour was also entirely dictated by global opinion. The wider White world was watching over them, judging their every move and taking the side of their enemies. The difference for us? We are the wider White world! It’s happening to all of us all at once!
When it comes to emigration the situations are only slightly comparable. The Dominions, as Yarvin points out in the clip, are being hit worse than anyone else. Despite being much more rooted than the Rhodesians, emigration is a very realistic option for any Australian, Canadian or New Zealander. Any of them could choose to move to Britain or the US and fit in seamlessly. It’s quite right to say that these three face worse prospects than the rest of us, especially the Kiwis with their horrifyingly liberal political scene, small population and already heavy White emigration.
All three don’t have a significant working class (the backbone of any resistance movement) in the way that Britain does. Yarvin has a point, but it won’t just be fences in these cases, it’ll be emigration, and, indeed, it is perfectly reasonable to predict that some states could fall, whether it be the Dominions or smaller European states which can be swallowed up in mere years due to their small populations. Tragic and a horrifying thought, but the White man can live to fight another day if that happens, strengthened by emigration from our fallen brother-states. There are well over 100,000,000 Anglos alone across the world, it is worth remembering. Temporary losses do not need to be permanent.
In the US this same phenomenon applies to states. Whites, as they have done anyway, will relocate to where the other whites are but, of course, you can’t run forever. If the Republicans don’t turn the tide and the White population falls under 50% then we’re entering uncharted territory. It is completely unreasonable to assume that a well-armed White population of 200,000,000 is simply going to just sit around behind their fences. When the demographics flip then there is no longer a political route out and these Whites will reside in a collapsing United States. This is not South Africa with a few million Whites, this is 200,000,000 people. You won’t see any ‘resistance’ in the form of an uprising until the political route closes, that would be counterproductive and damaging, but if it does? I wouldn’t bet on ‘nothing ever happens’ when conditions deteriorate and the control of the state wanes with incompetent minority hands at the wheel.
Remember, our defeat relies on every White state being swamped. If the worst case scenario does come, especially in the Dominions, then the Whites of those nations will be knocking the door down trying to move to any White country which successfully gets a pro-White government into power. Yarvin’s scenario relies on us losing literally everywhere all at once.
We haven’t made our stand like the South Africans yet, we can make those comparisons if we lose!
To bring things to a close I will bring the point back to Germany.
The Nationalist struggle took 14 years before victory in 1933. For years the NSDAP received a single digit percentage of the vote, only attaining a whopping 2.63% in May 1928, merely five years before the party came to power. Why? Well, the Germans weren’t hungry enough, the Germans weren’t poor enough, the Germans weren’t desperate enough. When they were? The people immediately sought out serious solutions for serious problems and chose Hitler and the National Socialists.
In the west, despite our own horrifying problems, we aren’t hungry or poor yet. Until now we have been able to engage in White flight, giving up large swathes of our country whilst we just move to a 95%+ White area and carry on as before. Now things are different. Since COVID the invaders are everywhere, literally everywhere. In Britain we even had Operation Scatter in which this was forced on us deliberately. The political scene has radicalised ever since as a result. Month by month, seemingly, the right shoots even further to the right with no signs of stopping. The most politically uninvolved people imaginable are getting political, getting racist.
Most of us have nowhere to run and the working and middle classes are struggling to get by with no light at the end of the tunnel. To anyone with eyes it appears that we are hurtling towards a confrontation. Racial tension has never been higher, White people have never been angrier, or, indeed, so united. The youth are radical, they have no prospects at all. The future is radical.
People, increasingly, have nothing to lose. Our countries get worse and worse by the year, standards are plummeting, prices are rising and our jobs are being lost to foreigners who will work for a fraction of the cost. If our material conditions made us as foreign to our ancestors as we are today, like Yarvin says, then poor material conditions can take us right back. Things are getting very bad very fast! The working man literally cannot get a job and has zero chance of ever owning a house. What farm can he retreat to? He can’t even afford the barbed wire fences.
Right now the leap is being made politically. Civic Nationalism has turned into ethnonationalism, people are willing to speak their views publicly, the pubs of Britain are full of people speaking their minds and newly redpilled normies are even reposting Hitler edits on their public instagram accounts. This is quite the leap from five years ago when this was all contained. In terms of organised politics we are seeing the rise of parties like Restore Britain. The hype after the announcement, not just here, but all across the White world, was huge for a reason. This was the inevitable result of all the metapolitical changes over the past few years, Britain was just the first and won’t be the last.
In the long run, sure, as noted, we could take some losses. New Zealand may well bleed out from emigration before any serious political resistance is organised. Their only option right now, whilst the demographics hang in the balance, is New Zealand First, an atrociously weak party with weak policies. Many other Anglosphere Whites may well choose emigration over resistance, but for everyone else? Where else is there to go? Every White country on earth is undergoing this same phenomenon. The ‘move to Hungary or Poland’ larp doesn’t even work anymore, Budapest and Warsaw are full of third world foreigners, even the Baltic capitals are.
A stand will come, and, as we’ve all seen with the rise of the Remigration movement, you can essentially talk things into existence. More than anything else people need hope and they need to demand more, demand everything. Two years ago Remigration was nothing, a fringe idea, now it’s mainstream and politics today simply revolves around who promises to deport the most brown people, essentially.
The world is changing. Cultures and nations may be lost, but in this radical future of ours, the White man will live on. It is ridiculous to assume that 800,000,000+ people will just go quietly into the night. The demoralised post-war generations were the historical anomaly, not us.
Any talk of South Africa serves as nothing but demoralisation (not that I believe this was Yarvin’s intention at all), we can have those conversations if we lose everywhere, which, to me, seems incredibly unlikely given the way things are going.
Rhodesia and South Africa, and, politically speaking, Salazar’s Portugal and Franco’s Spain, fell because it is nearly impossible to exist as a right-wing island in a liberal ocean. Now we are the ocean. This is happening everywhere all at once.
I for one am far from blackpilled. The future will look very different and it will be a herculean struggle, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. What a time to be alive. A monumental moment in history. A time built for great men whose great deeds will be remembered forevermore!
First, the political struggle. If that fails and the demographics tip? Then onto the real struggle! If that fails? We consolidate, we lose some states, we regroup and try again. If that fails? Then maybe we can talk about South Africa.
At 800,000,000 strong, don’t count us out!
